As first time parents, we were always looking for cool clothing and environmentally friendly toys and books our son would enjoy. Going to the typical baby stores, we found they all had the same logo-covered and boring clothing and toys. We knew there was better out there. We wanted something that would be either locally made or environmentally friendly.

We wanted to create a place to bring together all the great things we found in our research. This is how The Contemporary Kid started. After many nights of my wife and I spending hours (after our son goes to sleep) to find toys he would like or cool clothes, we wanted to help out other parents by making The Contemporary Kid the go-to site for fun clothing and cool toys.

As we expand we will work on getting communities around the country involved and giving parents cool happenings going on around their community.
